Gold and Hall of Fame at the Whitsunday Tourism Awards!
The Whitsunday Jetski Tours team walked away with three awards at the Whitsunday Tourism Awards on Saturday night, winning Gold for the Tour and Transport Operator category, as well as Gold for Adventure Tourism, which culminated in receiving recognition as a Hall of Fame entrant for winning the same Adventure Tourism category three years in a row.
At the gala event, held at Cape Gloucester Resort, owners Steve and Toni Ward enjoyed their success on the night with their staff, acknowledging the team for their excellence in customer service and highlighting the positiveness of the Whitsunday tourism industry.
“We enjoyed a fantastic night at the Whitsunday Tourism Awards with our tourism industry colleagues and it was exceptional in terms of the positive vibe surrounding the Whitsunday tourism industry now. We operate from Abell Point Marina, which is an award winning, highly developed marina precinct, we have a newly established tourism body in Tourism Whitsundays with an innovative leader and a great team, a new Mayor who is doing a fantastic job in supporting the tourism industry and a range of new tourism operators commencing operations,” said Steve.
“As always, we must extend a huge thank you to our staff who go above and beyond every day to ensure our guests have the best experience possible and also to the local agents, accommodation houses and Whitsunday locals. A big thank you also to the team at Tourism Whitsundays for putting on such a brilliant event and congratulations to all the winners on the night,” said Steve.
Whitsunday Jetski Tours commenced operating guided jet ski adventure tours six years ago and has seen significant growth each year. Steve and Toni are now preparing for their next venture, Island Jet Boating, which is coming on line within the next few weeks. As a sister company to Whitsunday Jetski Tours, they will operate from their adventure base at Abell Point Marina, Airlie Adventure Central.
“Launching Island Jet Boating comes at a fantastic time and adding this newest addition to our adventure base of activities will complement our existing product, as well as other tour operators. We will be offering half day jet boat tours to Daydream and South Molle Islands, and will be launching soon, so watch this space!” said Steve.
Whitsunday Jetski Tours has also entered the upcoming Queensland Tourism Awards in the same two categories and the team are looking forward to representing the Whitsundays on a state level.
Whitsunday Jetski Tours operates three jetski tours departing from Abell Point Marina daily; the Airlie Adventure, a soft adventure tour around Pioneer Bay, the Two Island Safari which explores South Molle and Daydream Islands, and the Daydream Extreme, offering the thrill of open water jet skiing to award-winning Daydream Island Resort and Spa, including a range of activities such as the popular Living Reef Experience.
